I was so excited to get a chance to play with this sweet Tilda with all her clover! I love the green and cream together....seems so very Irish to me! I think the Tim Holtz paper rosette really completes the project. He has another one out now too that is a bit smaller. You can see the little one here.

Envelobox Tutorial by DT member Annika Ryan

MAKING AN ENVELOBOX FOR BULKY 6x6 CARD USING
THE MARTHA STEWART SCORING BOARD

This is my first attempt at tutorial so mercy, please! Besides, my 22-month old was "helping me and thus I had to rush everything resulting is desperate photos. Hope it's of some help though!

What you need:
Sheet of cardstock cut to 11x11 inches
If you want a front panel, then cut it approx to 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches
Martha Stewart Scoring Board
ATG Gun
Scissors
Double-sided tape
1/2 inch wide ribbon (about 22 inches)
Measuring tape (for ribbon. totally optional, I just measure "by hand", lol)

Start by positioning the envelope attachment (stored on the back of the scoring board) onto the board and placing cardstock as shown. Make sure the corner of the card is touching the side of the board and that it sits snugly against the bottom edge of the triangle.

Then score at 4 inches and 4.5 inches. Repeat with remaining 3 corners.

Then snip out the area marked in orange, repeat on all 4 sides:

You end up with a following result:

Score on all the lines and attach the front panel if using:

Now apply the adhesive onto the areas marked orange (sorry for wonky lines, I was is HORRIBLE rush and just used a brush tool):

Place the cardstock "face down" now and attach together side flap and bottom flap placing bottom flap on top. It helps if you use a book or thick 6x6 stack of cardstock inside the envelobox to help to align the corner and sides properly. It has to be about 1/2 inches thick cause that's the depth of the envelobox.

Now tuck the remaining side flap underneath, line it up and adhere.

And voila, here's your box!

You could stop here no problem but I like to finish off and enforce a bit more.

I attach the double-sided tape onto the full length of the ribbon. You can do the same thing with ATG gun as well but NOT on tiled kitchen floor while trying to fend off 2 intensely curious toddlers, lol. The ribbon needs to be 3 times the length of the side of your box plus about 4 inches extra. I just measure by hand.

Peel the backing off the tape and tuck about two inches into the envelope:

Then stick the ribbon to 3 sides of your card and tuck the remaining bit into the other side of envelobox. Here's the result:

Looks tidy, doesn't it? I just use the dirt cheap satin half inch ribbon you can buy in spools from Ebay, no need to use your fancy ribbons!

A NOTE: If your card isn't terribly bulky but still thick enough not to fit comfortably into a regular envelope then cut your cardstock to 10.5 x 10.5 inches and score at 4 and 4 1/4 inches. That gives you an envelobox 1/4 inches deep.

Magnolia Sunset by DT member Ann Vento

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made using two of the stamps released from the recent Magnolia Wedding Collection, which is currently available at 7 Kids College Fund.  I've used Tilda with Peony and the Wedding Background. I used a gate fold and used my Martha Stewart Scoring Board (which is HALF the price of a ScorPal, but produces much sharper lines) to score my lines.  Since this is a 5.5" square gate fold card, I scored along the length of the paper at 2.75" and 8.25".

I thought it would be fun to go with some bright, funky colors for these images so after I chose a few pieces of paper from my BasicGrey Kioshi pad, I gathered up my distress reinkers and got to work! It's super easy to match the inks to the paper colors because you can blend and mix the inks to get the perfect color. To distress the edges, I used my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, which is a great value if you don't have one yet.  The reason why I say it's a great value is because the design of this paper distresser if very ergonomic.  There's a lot less stress on my fingers when I'm distressing the paper, as opposed to scissors or sand paper.  For those who have arthritis or pain, I highly recommend the Zutter Distrezz-It All because there's no strain on your fingers at all - the machine does all the distressing!  I used Stickles over the flowers and the water to give them some life :)  The dots on her cheeks were created using the Inkssentials Opaque White Pen.


I really love the versatility of these stamps because not only can you use them for wedding cards, but you also use them for summer cards, especially if you live by the beach like I do :)

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are having a wonderful day so far. It is very hot here today, so we spent a little time by the pool today. So in keeping with the warm weather and the water, I made this shadow box card! The wonderful thing about these cards is that they still fold flat to fit in an envelope and are easily mailed!

I used this cute little mermaid from CC Designs. She comes with her little sea lion pup friend!

To create my shadow box card, I started with 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 6x5 inches. Using a scoring tool, score the 6 inch side at .5", 1", 5" & 5.5". Fold the .5" & 5.5" to form a peak and the 1" & 5" lines to form a valley. I used a Nestability die to cut out the window on the front piece. Now you want to decorate the inside of your shadow box. I used distress inks to paint the background on watercolor paper and washed it with some Glimmer Mist to make it shimmer. My other elements were colored on Copic friendly paper with Copics and cut out. I popped all of the elements on the inside up with 3-D foam dots. After you have decorated the inside, you need to adhere the 2 papers together using double-sided tape.

 Here is a close-up of this swimming cutie. After coloring her with Copics, I covered her fins with Stickles. I also added some pearls to her ear and belt.

I use this sweet image of Prisma Color Pencils on her Bathing Ring. And as usually I used my Prisma Color Pencils to color her. I also use some Stickles and Glossy Accents on her swimming suit.

Honey Tilda

I was finally able to ink up Honey Tilda, which I received in my last order from 7 Kids College Fund. I used lighter colors than I normally used, taking colors from the Basic Grey Sugared papers. I glitterized her wings & stitched all the edges of the papers. I used my new Martha Stewart Garden Trellis deep edge punch...I knew the first time I saw it I had to have it!! Some Primas & ribbon....& done!! More simple than I usually do, but I struggled with this card so I figured I'd better quit while I was somewhat ahead!
