Hello everyone!!  I'm so happy that you have stopped by today because I have used this adorable little Stampavie image called "Love Bubbles" for our Copic/Promarker challenge this week at The Outlawz. Our challenge this week is shading and highlighting.  We want you to practice on those basic marker skillz.  :)  Here's the card that I created...

It’s the Birthday Fairy …

 

. . .  50th Birthday, that is!       

I’ve actually done this card before a little over a year ago in a much nicer teal color theme - but, my daughter needed a New Year’s Eve 50th Birthday card for her husband’s aunt, so I thought the black and silver would be appropriate!  

 

This voluptuous fairy is by Mo Manning, and perfect, in my mind, for a 50th birthday fairy!   

See what those of you who are under 50 have to look forward to?!!!    hehehe

 

 Lots of silver stickles on this one.   I’ve colored her dress using mainly T (Toner Gray) Copic markers ~ my favorites.     Here’s a quick closeup of the dimension added with the separately colored and cut wings.

 

 I love the combination of silver and black – especially for New Year’s Eve!   How exciting it would be to have birthday on this day!

I found these gold prismatic leaves at a little gas station/store in Leadville, Colorado. They were in the dollar bin. I knew I could find a use for them. I came up with the idea of a card with a fall fairy blowing the leaves off the tree.  If you look at her horn, you can actually see a part of a leaf at the end of it instead of a bubble. I wanted to give the feel that she is actually blowing the leaves from the horn. It is hard to see the shine (due to questionable lighting), but I added Stickles to her wings.

Part of my inspiration for this card came from another challenge, which was called Summertime Blues. However, I realized I would be too late to enter the challenge. I still liked the theme, so took off with it anyway. I also used the sketch from yet another challenge with cut off time prior to this posting. Oh well.

My sentiment was stamped and punched with a circle punch, backed with a blue scallop circle, and mounted on the designer paper which happened to include circles with little greed dots that ended up looking like another scallop. My background is one layer of  designer paper, 2 sheets cut down to create one layer. The trim is actually a little right of the line between papers (does that make sense?).

Who doesn’t love chubby babies? This chubby baby is Mo Manning’s, “Sumpin’s Wrong”. I stamped him with Memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah cardstock and colored him in with fabulous Copics. I cut his mat out with a few Nestabilities, embossed a strip of green cardstock with my Cuttlebug Spots & Dots folder, and added a handful of Basic Grey buttons to finish it off.

Hope you all have fun plans today. My little family is joining my husband’s side of the family at the zoo. My three-year-old is super excited. It’s feeling like a zoo at my house already.

CARD 1

It’s another Stampavie cutie from Gillian F. Roberts. I seriously couldn’t tell which one in this collection is my favorite stamp! I love them ALL!! This one is called Christmas Stocking and it’s in stock and available at 7 Kids College Fund! 

 

The dp is from the new Basic Grey eskimo kisses 6×6 paper pad  ~   I’m really liking some of the non-traditional Christmas colors included in this set.   I also added some Fun Flock in cotton ball white to the santa hat ~ Stickles in fruit punch, golden rod and sequins to the decorations on the greenery.

CARD 2

Here is another from the Gillian Roberts collection by Stampavie, now in stock at 7 Kids College Fund!   Yes, I know, I have a problem...LOL...I thought these two little birds would be perfect for a special card for any newlyweds on their first Christmas. This stamp is actually named Robins and I colored them as love birds!

I tried to color them to resemble the colors of actual love birds  …  

Thought it would be fun to add some pink and blue Stickles (Cotton Candy & Faded Jeans) to their stockings ~ kind of like his and her towels!!  

I also added some Green Apple Smooch pearlized paint to their tail feathers for a little bit of bling. The dp used is from the older Basic Grey Figgy Pudding collection. The sentiment tag is from the Spellbinders Shapeabilities set Ribbon Tag Trio 2.    

CARD 3

I think these stamps are some of the cutest holiday stamps I’ve ever seen. This one is Bear and Robin ~ although I colored the bird to be a blue bird!  

This little cutie was colored with Copics, cut out with a Nestabilities Large Deckled Rectangle die by Spellbinders and highlighted around the image with B00 & B000. I also added some Stickles in icicle  to look like glistening snow.
